FLIR Strengthens Portfolio of Thermal Imaging Cameras for Industrial Automation and Fire Prevention

FLIR Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: FLIR) has added two new members to its wide range of thermal imaging cameras for machine vision and industrial safety. The FLIR A66xx-Series is a high-speed thermal imaging camera with a cooled Indium Antimonide (InSb) detector, targeted at those machine vision applications that need high sensitivity, fast integration times and accurate camera synchronization and triggering. The FLIR FC-Series R is a thermal imaging camera with a maintenance free, uncooled Vanadium Oxide (VOx) microbolometer detector aimed at industrial safety. Offering excellent image quality and temperature measurement capabilities, it is highly effective for condition monitoring and fire prevention applications.

FLIR A66xx-Series – High-speed thermal imaging camera with cooled InSb detector

A66xx-Series thermal cameras can help users see minute temperature differences, capture high-speed processes and thermal events, measure temperatures of very small targets, and synchronize with other measuring devices. This makes the A66xx-Series an ideal camera for automated inspections and process control, especially machine vision applications that require critical imaging such as fast-moving bottling, food packaging, and laminate production lines.

The FLIR A66xx-Series incorporates a cooled FLIR Indium Antimonide (InSb) detector that operates in the 3- to 5-micron waveband, producing crisp thermal images at 640 x 512 pixel resolution with a thermal sensitivity of <20 mK for accurate temperature measurement. With the ability to support high frame rates (up to 480 frames per second for A6600 at ¼ window and up to 4,175 frames per second for A6650 at 16 x 4 pixel window) and capture all pixels within a scene in snapshot mode, these cameras help eliminate blur on high-speed targets, a problem common to uncooled thermal imagers.

Custom cold filtering options for specific spectral detection and measurement are also available, which is ideal for imaging through glass, measuring temperature of thin film plastics, and filtering different wavebands for laser profiling and detection.

FLIR FC-Series R – Thermal imaging camera for critical equipment monitoring

The fixed-mounted FLIR FC-Series R thermal imaging camera can be installed almost anywhere to monitor vital equipment and other valuable assets. The FLIR FC-Series R features on-board, non-contact temperature measurement capabilities, making it highly useful for 24/7 monitoring of critical vessels, electrical substations, and hot spots in waste bunkers and coal piles that signal the potential of fire. By letting you see heat issues before they turn into costly problems, FC-Series R cameras can help prevent costly downtime and enhance worker safety.

The FC-Series R thermal imaging camera features an uncooled, maintenance-free Vanadium Oxide (VOx) microbolometer detector in either a 640 x 480 or 320 x 240 pixel resolution option, and includes various lens options. The camera comes standard with built-in analysis functions including spot, area measurement, and difference temperature (delta) modes. Alarms can be set to activate as a function of analysis, internal temperature, or digital input.FC-Series R cameras come in a rugged IP67 rated enclosure and can be easily installed outdoors or in dusty environments.

Both products are available to purchase immediately worldwide through FLIR industrial automation distribution partners. For more information about the FLIR A66xx-Series and FLIR FC-Series R, please visit www.flir.com/automation.
